The ‘Not Us’ drug campaign kicked off on March 29 at the Community Hall. Hay River residents poured into the room full of food, fun and information bringing to light the risks involved with substance abuse.
Warmer temperatures graced the 27th annual Ptub races this past weekend as cross-country skiers from Hay River, Yellowknife and Fort Smith took to the trails. The fire that engulfed the Hay River Dump on Sunday has finally been put out after approximately 50 hours of fighting.
The party was twice as big this past weekend as the second annual Polar Pond Hockey Tournament got underway.
At about 3 p.m. on Sunday, the Hay River Fire Department responded to a fire call at the local dump. Black smoke could be seen from across town as it carried the smell of burning garbage towards the residential areas.
