We only thought about it as a joke but no, apparently the whole thing is serious. You can read on the boy scouts’ website about a badge called “Video Games”. We don’t really know what’s scarier – the “price comparison task”, the “rating rationale” or the poor attempt at educating little scouts by forcing them into playing “a video game that will help you practice your math, spelling, or another skill that helps you in your schoolwork.” Indeed, that would definitely help. Not.
But then again – with the introduction of fitness videogames that allow people to “exercise” indoors, the little guys will soon roast marshmallows with the game controller in front of the TV. All fine and dandy, as long as they don’t get any ideas about a real campfire in the living room. The whole story here: CLICK.
