A break in at Ecole Boreale is under investigation by the Hay River RCMP.
According to a press release, the occurrence is believed to have taken place between 11 p.m. on June 2 and 7 a.m. on June 7.
A classroom was broken into and an estimated $10,000 worth of computer equipment, monitors, laptops and cameras was taken.
According to RCMP Const. Nathan Jacobson, the thief got into the portable classroom through a window.
“My understand is that the portable was locked for the track meet,” said Jacobson. “And that is why it was not discovered until Monday morning.”
Anyone with any information is asked to call the RCMP at (867) 874-1111 or the NWT Crime Stoppers program at 1-800-222-TIPS.
