The children at Soaring Eagle Friendship Centre’s summer culture camp program went fishing on Aug. 22 under the learned tutelage of Environment and Natural Resources (ENR) officers, as well as community members.
“It’s really nice out here,” said Noah Lafleur, one of the participants. “We’ve caught a few fish and we’re making hotdogs on the fire.”
The occasion was also an introduction to Suzanne Boucher, the newest ENR officer in Hay River.
“It’s good to be out here with the kids,” said Boucher.
