The new fire hall in Hay River has been open for months, and firefighters have no nostalgia for the old fire hall.
The new building – which has quickly become a prominent landmark in downtown Hay River – features many improvements over the old fire hall.
Just to name a few, there are lockers for firefighters’ equipment, a system to capture exhaust from vehicles, a hose-drying tower, a kitchen and more administration space for the Hay River Fire Department.
Plus, there is much more room overall, and all the department’s vehicles are now under one roof.
