Community Const. Steve Beck is touring the DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program around schools in Hay River this winter, helping kids make better decisions about drugs, alcohol and tobacco.

Students are taught to define a challenge or opportunity, assess the situation, respond, and evaluate that response. The program is delivered by RCMP officers across Canada and helps members connect with youth in their communities.

Seven students heard what Beck had to say.
