In the latest development in the ongoing municipal strike, the town has announced it will be contracting maintenance work for the parks in the community this summer.

“When the strike started, we were able to lock up the facilities and keep people safely out of the rec centre,” said Mayor Andrew Cassidy. “Obviously, with outdoor parks, it’s a little different.”

Cassidy explained that parks across town would be maintained to a safe standard for users, particularly children.
