The fire that engulfed the Hay River Dump on Sunday has finally been put out after approximately 50 hours of fighting.
At about 3 p.m. on Sunday, the Hay River Fire Department responded to a fire call at the local dump. Black smoke could be seen from across town as it carried the smell of burning garbage towards the residential areas.
Sometimes second best is just good enough.
