Hosting their home tournament this past weekend, Hay River’s midget hockey team finished up in third after facing some tough competition. Hay River had a sluggish first game against Fort Smith, but came out on top. The team came together while playing the eventual tournament champions High Level, tying the game five each.

This past weekend was the Hay River Golf Club’s first annual $10,000 Shootout. Seventy-four golfers had the opportunity to play 36 holes over a two day span in hopes of getting a hole in one. The tournament was played in a two-person best ball format, and each hole had a $10,000 hole in one prize.
